Who We Are
The Eastern Viking Band Aides (the EVBA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports the Eastern Viking Outdoor Marching Band and Indoor Drumline and Color Guard Programs. The EVBA is made up of parents and guardians of students currently participating in the Outdoor and Indoor Marching Viking Programs. Membership is also available to alumni and alumni parents.
What We Do
The EVBA supports the staff and students of the Eastern Marching Viking Outdoor and Indoor Programs. Our support typically comes in the form of fundraising and volunteering “behind the scenes”. Parental involvement is essential to the success of the entire band program. When parents offer time and effort to assist with uniforms, serve on the pit crew, help at band camp and Friday night dinners, and help with fundraising – we are giving our time and effort to our students and the ultimate success of the program.
But joining the EVBA is not all about what you can do for the Marching Programs - it is also about what being an EVBA Member can do for you! The EVBA is where our Marching Viking Parents go to find out what is really happening in Marching Band from a parents' perspective. Its a place where you can ask anything from "How do we know where to go when we get to the competition?" to "My child is having trouble finding time to get his homework done. How does yours manage it?" Taking an active role in the EVBA keeps us involved in our teenagers' lives and we make our own lasting friendships along the way.
When and Where We Meet
The EVBA meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 pm at Eastern Regional High School unless otherwise announced by the Board of Directors. Meetings are scheduled to coincide with Marching Band rehearsals and we do our best to finish by 9:00 pm so we don't keep the students (and staff) waiting. Meetings shift to the second Tuesday of the month in November to coincide with Indoor Drumline rehearsals. For more information about EVBA meetings visit our Parent Information Page.
